How can I remove URL from the issue created and issue updated email notifications?

madhab gc September 11, 2012

Currently,

The default issue created email looks like below:

...............................................................................

XXX created projectname-27:
-----------------------------

Summary: test 007 - please ignore.
Key: projectname-27
URL: http://xyz.xyz.com:8080/browse/projectname-27
Project: XYZ project
Issue Type: Emails Received
Reporter: username
Assignee: project leader

.................................................................

I want to removed the field URL from above since end users will not have access to the jira web site. Also I want to removed the url for the issue on subsequent emails.

Please help.

Thanks Nic.

I read that before but since I am technically challnaged I was hoping if someone could point me to a specific area where the URL field and and the URL link are coming from.

There's a line in the .vm files those docs refer to that is expanding the text from the issue. Probably something like $issue.url

Remove that, or swap it to something like $issue.key and it'll go away

When I said subsequent emails I meant on other events as well.

On other events the email has a long URL at the top of the email like this. I want to remove the top url but keep the comments or updates.
