How can I migrate JIRA configuration from a test environment to a production environment?

Steven Kahrs December 11, 2015

We have a test instance of JIRA & JIRA Agile that we build configurations in and test them in before we deploy those configurations in our production instance.  As far as we know in order to deploy new or updated configurations in our production instance after building and testing them in our test instance we must rebuild them in the production instance.  We are not aware of any means to migrate new or updated configurations from a test instance to a production instance.  It appears we can export a project from one instance and import it into another instance but that appears to be limited to tickets and not inclusive of configuration.  Thanks!

Hi Steven,

We developed Configuration Manager for JIRA with exactly this case in mind. You can check it on Atlassian's marketplace - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/1211611

We're currently working on JIRA Agile support and it should be available very soon.

Drop us an email at support@botronsoft.com and we can schedule an online demo and answer any questions that you may have smile

Thanks,

George

Hey Steven,

Take a look at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.awnaba.projectconfigurator.projectconfigurator/server/overview and https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.botronsoft.jira.configurationmanager/server/overview

You might have to check if they include JIRA Agile data. Refer to their documentation or contact support.
