How can I make the Reporter be the default Assignee for a specific JIRA project if the user creating a JIRA does not choose an explicit Assignee?

How can I make the Reporter be the default Assignee for a specific JIRA project if the user creating a JIRA does not choose an explicit Assignee? I do not want the JIRA project lead to be the default Assignee, but that is what happens normally. I am using JIRA version 4.4.3
