How can I ensure the rank of my issues on one plan matches another plan view

Each team in my area has their own plan view showing all their Epics ranked and ordered. I have setup another view to pull in issues from across those teams - is there a way for me to keep the same rank in the summary plan per project?

Hi @Laura Crankshaw

Ranking is top to bottom, so simply said ranking is ordering.

The highest ranked issue is at the top.

Ranking is not a setting in the system.

Hi @Laura Crankshaw and welcome to the community!

If they are using the default stack ranking, it should show a consistent rank across plans. I would validate the following:

  • All plans are sorted by Rank
  • Each team has committed their rankings to Jira. If they rank the issues in their plan, but do not commit, Jira does not recognize the ranking and neither will any new plans that have been created.
  • Make sure your plan is grouped by project to because rankings may get weird in a flat list as they are only ranked within the context of the project.
