How can I disable automatic links in JIRA comments?

Bogdan_Calmac May 1, 2014

JIRA automatically formats URLs as links and that's very convenient most of the time. But for those cases when this is not desired, how can it be disabled? How can I write http://google.com as plain text?

There's a similar question for Confluence (https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/33779/how-do-i-disable-automatic-link-in-a-confluence-page) mentionining {nolink:}, but that did not work in JIRA.

I don't think that's posisble unless you use the noformat macro.

noformat would put it in a box and on a new line, it's not what I was looking for. Are you sure it's not possible?

Insert an invisible zero width space in the URL, e.g. http://google.com appears as desired (although it doesn't work here)
