How can I customize the css of my onDemand JIRA instance?

Jira is ugly, I would like to make it pretty. How can I customize the css? Color editor in the "Look and Feel" section is insufficient.

You can't, you're using OnDemand, which means you can't hack the underlying CSS.

If you've got your own installation, you'd be able to fiddle with the css in there. If your improvements really make it less ugly, it would be nice to share it with Atlassian to see if they'd incorporate any of your prettying.

You can install licensed version with a $10 investment on your local computer using the default memory database to experiment with. So Nic's suggestion is reasonable. I would first read development documents to get things started.
