How can I create new issues and comment on these tickets directly on Outlook email

hoc4hc October 7, 2024

Hello all,

Currently I have a mission to create the available function/button to allow our team members on creating new issues, commenting on them and attaching the attachments directly from Outlook. From that, we will be no need to log in to Jira each time we get the request from customers, we just need to create directly on Outlook. I also try to read this page ( at the end of this Ask box) to find the way to solve this issue but it is a pity that I am not a Jira Admin. Then I tried to find the location to raise the permission but as you can see in two below tickets that there is no contact information. How can I have the right here?

Hi @hoc4hc welcome to the Atlassian community.

Yes, you can create new Jira issues and comment on existing tickets directly from your Outlook email.

However, setting this up requires administrative privileges. Your company's Jira administrator can configure a Microsoft mail server with OAuth 2.0 integration and mail handlers.

We recommend reaching out to your company's Jira administrator(s) for assistance.

For more details on these steps, check out this Atlassian documentation.

Hello Subramanyam,

Thank you for answering my query. However, I wonder that do we need to pay the fee to be able to configure this feature, then it will be easier for me to approach my Admin.

Thank you!
