How can I configure the TEMPO plugin to automatically start logging work?

Hugo Eduardo Loureiro Amadeu May 13, 2013

Hi everyone!

I'd like to configure the TEMPO plugin to automatically start logging work when an issue goes into "In Progress" and stop when it goes into "Issue Closed" status.

Is it possible?

Jira Version: OnDemand

Hi Hugo,

Unfortunately this is not possible at this time.

This needs to be a feature... There's a major need for it. There's no point my team using this until it's automated in this may - too much of a pain to have to manually click start each time, and too prone to error.

Why is this not a feature? :/

This seems a weird request. Can you really assume that a user stays on one task after he has moved the status? If this was developed it would need to be configurable.

It's pretty standard in a Kanban Agile methodology for a worker to focus on one 'in progress' item at a time - it makes sense to automatically log the time they spend for each of these tasks.
