How can I configure JIRA Cloud to notify me when an issue is assigned to a specific user ?

I need to be alerted everytime an issue assigned to a specific user on the project. Is this possible.

This is not yet possible but is outlined in the following feature request:

I found in a similar request that this Automation for Jira add-on from Code Barrel could potentially help you. Have a look at that and feel free to trial and it and see if it helps you with notifications.
