How can I change the JRE_HOME that Jira uses when it starts?

Kyle Day July 17, 2016

Hi,

My server is using the JRE_HOME variable when it is running.  How can I change the path that it is using for that variable?

Thanks.

You could define it in the setenv.sh/bat file to override it, but I wouldn't recommend using a version other than the bundled one.

We just have it set up inside of a different volume other than /opt/atlassian/jira/jre.  Is it known to cause problems if you switch the path where it is?

Shouldn't have problems with the path, but you really should stay with the same version of Java it's distributed with.
