How I can restrict editing stories to a certain group of users?

Ruben Sadoyan February 24, 2013

Hi guys,

I want my team members do not edit stories, while raise and edit bugs when needed.

How I can set these permissions in Jira, so that editing stories is limited with product owners, while bugs, tasks, all other issue types could be edited by anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Aquarius.

hi

you can set properties per step (in a workflow)

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Workflow+Properties

or you remove/modify "Edit Issues" permission from the Scheme

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Managing+Project+Permissions

jira won't make a difference if it is a story or a bug or whatever you configured as an issuetype.

edit permission is like ON or OFF

let me update this...

you can add different workflows per issue-type.

inside this workflows you can set properties. so if you plan to add a workflow for issue-type "Story" forget this line

jira won't make a difference if it is a story or a bug or whatever you configured as an issuetype.
