Hello, do you mean automatic assign?
It is possible to do it in transition's post funciton in worfklow. You can add post function on the first transition (which is going to the first status). In postfunction you can add user who is assignee. It is possible to have own workflow for every issue type.
If you need any logic for choose assignee, it is good to use script runner plugin, where you can add your logic in groovy language.
