How Does One Move Tasks from Components to to Backlog?

Susan Kelly November 3, 2017

As a new user I created several tasks and they are designated as components. I don't know how to move them from the components page to the backlog.

How can we do this? With the tasks on the components page, I can't add them to sprints. Or I can't see how that's possible.

Thank you.

Tasks are not "designated as components".  A task is something that needs doing.  A component is a tag you stick on issues to help you sort our parts of a project.

The backlog is a pile of issues (tasks) that need doing.  The backlog is defined on a board by the filter.

If your tasks are not appearing in the backlog, then the filter for the board is not selecting them.  I'd start with a look at that.  ( One perfectly valid filter for a board might be "project in (x, y, z) and component = 'thing'", but most tend to be "project = x")
