We love using the Sprint Health gadget and the Sprint Burndown gadget for our current Sprints.
These two useful gadgets are only available for the current Sprint.
Does anyone know how we can build a dashboard that looks back at previous Sprints for high level views of Sprint Health improving or degrading over a Quarter or even a year? Using these gadgets or something like them?
For example the Sprint Health gadget show Scope Change percentage. We would love to see how that trends over the last few months worth of Sprints.
If I forget to capture the screenshot before starting another sprint then I have to hack the configuration HTML to display a historical gadget.
To prepare, get the sprint id number. You can get this by going to the Jira Reports | Sprint Report, for the historical sprint you're interested in and find the sprint id in the URL `...?sprint=12345`
Go to your Dashboard and Edit, in the Sprint Health Gadget select Configure.
With Developer Tools enabled, Right click in the Sprint dropdown control and Inspect.
Disclose the <select id... to reveal the <option value=... HTML elements. See that your historical sprint is not there.
Click the line of the last <option value=... element and click the three dots menu on the left, select Edit as HTML.
Copy the HTML text, go to the end of the line and create a new line, paste the same HTML text, update the sprint id and change the text with the name of your historical sprint. Then just click out of the text box.
Go back to the Sprint Health Gadget configure page and select your new sprint option and Save.
See your historic Sprint Health Gadget display. I cannot vouch for the calculations after the sprint has closed but the number match what's in the Sprint Report.
eazyBI offers a set of default sample reports and an option to build many custom reports for sprint and overall Jira data analysis.
You can go to our demo account to look for some report examples on Sprints. You can check any other dashboards and reports in our demo account as well.
Here is a sample report in our demo account we build by default for all closed sprints representing the status of issues at sprint closing.
