Hide Assign button v6.2

Jacob Jaskolka February 12, 2015

In the Opsbar I want to hide the default "Assign" button as we require a custom workflow transition in order to do this (note- I still need the permission to assign users). I have seen scripts to do this, but every report says they no longer work in v6+ of JIRA.

How might I go about hiding this button so the workflow step is used and not the other?

We have this set up through a bit of a work around.

We do have the permissions set up so no one has the "Assign Issues" permission.

(Since taking everyone off of this permission hides the Assign button, but also hides the assignee field we set up this next part since we want users to still be able to assign at a certain point.)

On the specific transition we want users to be able to assign we have a custom field, (user picker type)named "Assigned" that we have shown on that transitions screen. Then on that transiton we have a post function that copies the "Assigned" field into the "Assignee" field.

I'll have to give that a try. Thank you.
