Having comments in Excel reports of JIRA

Nasim Sajadi January 13, 2013

How can I add the comments to the Excel report being extracted from JIRA?

Commnets are not in the Excel even when the "Excel(all Field)" is selected.

What we did at one stage for such a request was to use ScriptRunner (JIRA plugin) and setup a calculated field to present the comments and this can be shown in the excel reports.

However, as Renjith says, this isn't possible with OnDemand.

On hosted JIRA instances, the Better Excel Plugin can export comments just like any other system- or custom field to XLSX.

In this approach, comments are represented by calculated fields, giving you granular access to first/last/all comments and also its text/submitter/submission-date.

This is not available for the cloud yet, but you are more than welcome to vote here!

Comments are not handled as a standard field. If you export comments into Excel, it can become too big.

And you are on OnDemand, you options are less, I guess none.
