Have Jira and Jira Service Management in same instance?

Hi Atlassian, 

We have an instance today with Jira Service Management in our production and sandbox environment, and Jira for our test environment. Is it possible to add product Jira also in production environment, so we have both Jira and Jira Service Management in production, with different admins and users? 

Also, how does the licensing part for Jira work? Is it the same as for Jira Service Management, that everyone in our organization can create an issue, and licenses are needed for agent view?

To answer your questions:

  • Yes, it is possible to add Jira as a product to your site, you would need to:
    • Go to admin.atlassian.com
    • Click on Products and choose Add product button
    • Choose Jira Software and your existing production site
  • The licensing on Jira works a bit differently - Jira users can be any users that have access to your Jira product (this can be checked when going to Settings > User Management) - once the Jira product is added to your site, you would need to invite them to join.

Jira is free for 10 users that join your site. When you want to invite more users to your site, you will get the prompt to go to a Standard tier. These are the pricing models:

Standard - 7.16$ per user and includes these features:

Premium - 12.48$ per user and included features like:
