Grant JIRA access to users from bitbucket team

Boris Tarelkin August 4, 2014

Hi.

I have a team in bitbucket and a JIRA OnDemand account. I linked the team repository to the JIRA with DVCS. Is there any way to grant access to all members in "Developers" group in bitbucket to JIRA?

Thanks,

Boris.

Hi Boris,

There is no way to link user accounts on JIRA with user accounts on Bitbucket. This functionality will come with Atlassian ID in the future. However, when you create JIRA users, emails will be automatically sent to the new users, inviting them to join Bitbucket. For details, see Managing Users.

It would be good to have the same jira users (username and email) as the ones in Bitbucket, this way, when there is any update on Bitbucket related to any issue on JIRA, the view of who change what would be more natural. E.g.: 'userA' updates 'issue123' whose assignee is 'User.A.'. If both have the same characteristics then it would appear: 'userA' updated 'issue123' whose assignee is 'userA'.

Hope this helps!

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Cheers!
