Google apps users change primary email

Rui Silva May 30, 2013

Hi,

All of our Google apps users have a primary e-mail address with this pattern: lastname@domain.com. Now we want to let the users choose if they want their firstname or lastname as their primary email address.

We did some tests and JIRA seems to create a new user when you update the primary address on Google Apps. Is there a way to merge the new and old account?

Thanks for your help.

Julien

The OnDemand usernames need to match the GApps usernames (all that is in front of @domain.com). Therefore, if you change your user's email addresses, OnDemand will grab the new username and create a new matching account. Unfortunately, it's not possible to edit usernames in OnDemand to avoid this, so if you want to change the GApps names, you'll need to use new OnDemand accounts as well.
