GitHub not showing even though it authorizes

Ian Carroll August 30, 2013

I am on a 30 day trial for OnDemand as I wait for my open source license to activate. When I connected our GitHub account, I generated the oAuth tokens, I went to GitHub, and hit Authorize. I was redirected to the homepage, as expected, because the guide says to set the root JIRA URL as the callback. When I went to the DVCS page, the account was not listed. This was repeated three times, to no avail.

Hi there,

I have just tested with my On Demand account and is able to connect, perhaps I will try walk you through the steps for connecting with your GitHub account (Note: you need to be administrator of the account in order for it to work)

  1. Login to your GitHub account
  2. Click on the Account Setting Icon at the top right corner
  3. Click on the Application on the panel list on your left
  4. Click Register New Application
  5. Homepage URL and Authorization Callback place your On Demand URL here, for application name leave it to your preference
  6. Register the application
  7. You will notice now you have the Client ID and Client Secret generated
  8. Go to your On Demand Instance, press g + g + DVCS Accounts
  9. Choose Link Bitbucket or GitHub Account
  10. Choose host to GitHub
  11. User account to your account name
  12. OAuth Key for the Client ID on your GitHub page
  13. OAuth Secret for the Client Secret at your GitHub page
  14. Click Add, it will bring you to GitHub to login to your account
  15. After you accept then you should be able to see the GitHub listed on your On Demand instance and 1 user to your GitHub application link you created earlier

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any problem following the instructions :)

This is actually captured on the following documentation if you want to refer:

Cheers :)
