GitHub + DVCS commit logs not associating with Issue

Bruce Chu June 25, 2012

Using JIRA OnDemand, I have the DVCS connector setup with GitHub, but the commit log messages are not showing up in the issue Activity and Commits either with a Force Sync or non-forced sync. Both the Force sync and non-forced sync appear to be working properly.

Where is the syntax for the commit hooks documented? Is there any way that I can debug this further?

I've attempted the following syntax without any results:

JT-1 this sucks two

[JT-1] this sucks

Fixed an annoying bug [#JT-1 transition:31 resolution:1]

Fixed [#JT-1 state:committed]

Fixed [#JT-1 comment blah blah]

JT-1 comment blah blah

Fixed an annoying bug [#JT-1]

I can see some commits for some issues but none from other issues.

When I try to sync the new commits are not shown and the timestamp of the last commit is not changed.

I guess it's worse then seing no commits since I can't trus what I see.

I filed a support ticket and they created this bug: https://studio.atlassian.com/browse/BBC-217

I haven't had a chance to look in depth at the reason why this is happening, but they did refer me to this stackoverflow posting: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8283915/git-author-unknown

Bruce,

Have you had any success? We are experiencing the same. Reindexing did not resolve this for us.

Hi Bruce,

Have you tried reindexing?

I had the same issue and reindexing fixed it.
