Getting rid of Error occurred while retrieving gadget spec for /invalid/legacy/portlet/Please_remove_this_gadget_from_your_dashboard!

I am looking for a solution to solve the following error for ALL users, not only the logged in one.

Error occurred while retrieving gadget spec for /invalid/legacy/portlet/Please_remove_this_gadget_from_your_dashboard!

I repaired the problem on the default dashboard but how can I repair the problem for all users?

When jira was set up the projects gadget was on the system dashboard, configured for all projects. I used the script below to remove it from all dashboards and replace it with a text gadget explaining what had happened and why.

I can't remember when I ran this, the code may need updating for 4 or 5. I know of no better way, although perhaps there is some db hacking that might be easier.
