Frustrating new permission manager - any faster ways to grant permissions?

New permission manager is sooo frustrating. Creating/altering permission scheme is an action that should take 1 minute tops, yet now it takes half an hour. You have to repeatedly click, scroll, find permission, and click again for every role and for every permission that you have to grant. (Why on earth Atlassian changed it and wasted time if they couldn't improve it? Why this clickitty-click UI instead of simple permissions Vs roles/groups/functions matrix with checkboxes?)

Is there any possibility to quickly ctrl-click multiple permissions at a time? Or some way to bulk grant permission to multiple roles at a time?

Click on the box and the list of choices appears.

Use the down arrow once and then click Return to select the top choice

Repeat the previous steps like a robot and you can add all the permissions to the select box in about 10s.

Yes, I agree the UI isn't the best for what most people want to do.
