Formatting custom Select List (multiple choices) field?

We have a custom Select List (multiple choices) field. When the issue is ready the list shows the selected items in line separeted with coma. Is it possible to format the result in column. 

Ex.: Now it shows: slfjksdfldskjfd, ksfjslfjsdfsjf, slfksdflsdkjfls,

       I need: slfjksdfldskjfd,

                   ksfjslfjsdfsjf,

                   slfksdflsdkjfls

Not without hacking the (core code) template that displays it.  That might also have some unwanted effects in places where the field is displayed outside the issue view.
