Fisheye to Jira application link configuration (BAD IP)

nkaravias November 18, 2012

Hello,

I have Jira 4.3 and fisheye 2.8.2 and i'm trying to create a trusted application link between them. Jira ip is *.100 and Fisheye's IP is *.101

On my jira installation:

  • Incoming authentication IP Patterns = null
  • Outgoing authentication IP Patterns = *.101

On my fisheye installation:

  • Incoming authentication IP Patterns = *.101
  • Outgoing authentication IP Patterns = null

With this configuration I am getting the following errors in fisheye.log every time I try to access the source tab on any Jira ticket:

ERROR - Error handling trusted applications authentication attempt:BAD_REMOTE_IP;Request not allowed from IP address: 100

Clearly there is an issue with the configuration of the trusted link between the two apps. I tried adding Jira's IP to the outgoing tab on fishey but after doing that I get the following on fisheye.log:

WARN - Failed trusted applications authentication attempt:USER_UNKNOWN;Unknown User: {0};["tempusr"]

2012-11-19 11:10:35,590 WARN - User 'tempusr' referenced by trusted application: 'jira:12349895' is not found.

This is most likely a faulty configuration issue. Any suggestions?

My only thought is that I have to proceed like this:

On fisheye:

  • Incoming / Outgoing IP points to JIRA

On Jira

  • Incoming / Outgoing IP points to Fisheye
