I have a simple KANBAN Setup on my JIRA Project with 2 components that I use for filtering my boards. This worked well a long time, but a couple of weeks ago, the component filter doesn't work on my backlog anymore. So as soon as I set the filter on component, my backlog shows up empty.
Here is the summary of what works, and what not:
I am pretty sure that this has to be a bug. I already tried so many different things, but I did not figure out what happens here.
Does anyone have the same problem or even a solution to this problem?
Hello @Doris Margraf
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
What type of project are you using? Get that information from the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.
EDIT: Rereading your post I see you already stated it is a Kanban board.
How have you create filters for your Components? Did you create Quick Filters, writing your own JQL? If so can you show us those filters?
Can you provide screen images showing the backlog and issue searches when the filters are not applied and when they are applied?
Can you identify an issue that is present without the filtering that you think should be present, but isn't, when the filter is applied? Can you provide a screen image of that issue that shows the values in the Component field?
Hi @Trudy Claspill thanks for the fast response!
Let me try sharing all the infos you need.
I use the same filter
project = ABC AND type IN (Bug, Story, Task) AND component = Murf ORDER BY Rank ASC
Example: Kanban Board Murf with board filter
Example: Backlog Murf with board filter (empty)
All task in To Do from Kanban should be also in the Backlog.
Here is an open task with the component selected

Thank you for the additional information.
Can you navigate to the board configuration and show us the Columns configuration which will show how statuses are mapped to columns?
Are you using the native Jira Components or are you using Compass Components?

Now that you mention the Compass Components...
When I setup my boards, we had only JIRA components. Now I had the Compass Components activated, but I did not really use this feature.
I disabled the Compass Components, created new JIRA Components and if I provide this to a task it works as expected.
So seem like the issue is happing only with Compass Components... If there is no other way, I will have to switch them all back (manually). Which is tricky as the Compass component filter doesn't work anywhere except my Kanban board

I disabled Compass Components, recreated components in JIRA and updated all pending issues. Now everything is back to normal! Thanks for the hin @Trudy Claspill
Just wondering if Compass Components is still beta...?

I have not had an opportunity to work with Compass Components yet, so I don't really have any insights on that functionality.
