Filter Count Gadget missing

Micah November 7, 2017

The description of the Filter Count Gadget is exactly what I've been looking for, but my instance of JIRA Cloud does not have that gadget when I search for it.  The Atlassian documentation (https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/using-dashboard-gadgets-776636252.html) doesn't indicate that I need to install any plugins to access it.

It is not listed on the subsequent page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GADGETS/All+Atlassian+Gadgets) listing all gadgets in more detail.  So I'm wondering if the first page just wasn't updated properly and the plugin just isn't available anymore which would be a shame since there doesn't seem to be a good replacement for it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I received an answer on this from Atlassian Support, maybe it will help others, since their documentation doesn't reflect this:

Thank you for reaching Atlassian Support

I'm afraid that Filter Count Gadget is only available if your instance has JIRA Service Desk Application. This is mentioned in the following ticket:

Since instance solerana.atlassian.net does not have JIRA Service Desk, it explains that you are unable to see this gadget. We do have a feature request raised to enable Filter Count Gadget for all JIRA users. Please see the feature request ticket below:

We’d advise you to add yourself as a watcher to it to receive any updates and take the time to vote on it to increase its popularity. In addition, more information about how Atlassian implements New Features can be found on this page.
