Field Configuration Scheme, make a filed mandatory via scrip or CLI?

Hi

I have a ton of custom fields on my JIRA instance and the field configuration scheme takes to long to load after I make a field mandatory/optional, I'm looking for a script or an option that doesn't involve the UI  to configure these.

Any suggestions?

No, you need to do this in the UI really.

If the config scheme is "taking too long", you have an issue with performance that will be breaking other things as well, and oyu need to fix that.

I cant believe that such simple task cannot done via script\CLI, you can add users, groups, create workflows, update issues etc.... but making a field mandatory there is no way?

Not yet.  The REST interface is being expanded, but the focus for it is issues, not admin.
