Extending List of suggested Epics

When you're creating or editing an issue, and want to apply the issue to be under an Epic, the initial drop-down for the suggested Epics (before typing to see a filtered list) shows up to 10 items. Is there any way to extend the size of this list beyond 10?

In the jira-config.proprieties file there is an option to show more issues in the recent issue dropdown - maybe you could look for another option for epic, a starting point would be: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA060/Advanced+JIRA+Configuration
