Export/Import between two JIRA's

Beanette Senekal March 30, 2016

I would like to find out.  We have an 'internal' JIRA and an 'external' JIRA.  We would like to import all of the info from the internal JIRA to the external JIRA. These two are on different versions.  How do we go about doing this?

Hi Beanette,

  • First of all backup your JIRA

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/backing-up-data-185729581.html

  • Make sure that you have these same plugins in the destination JIRA. If not install them.
  • Restore JIRA data from Backup
  • You have JIRA ready to use (it will be good to reindex it and restart it)

Michal,

when you RESTORE the content of the first JIRA to the second, what will happen with the already existing content in that JIRA? Import and Restore are two completely different things.
