Excel file in valid CSV to import in JIRA

Chris Ewe September 10, 2012

Dear sir or madam,

me problem is that I have a large Excel file and I want to transform

it into a CSV file which is valid to import it with the JIRA import wizard.

So, I think it would be the best way if we can talk via telefon about it.

Hope this is possible.

Maybe I can talk to a german speaking person.

Greetings,

C

Chris

You have to follow these steps ;

1. open your execel file and remove all commas ( ",") form the excel file.

2. make sure that all of your JIRA mandatory fields are present in your excel file too. Also, assignee and reporter fields should contain exact usernames liek JIRA has.

3. Save as your excel file in csv format

4. go to extenal system import and choose csv import.

5. follow the wizard.

Thanks, Vishnu.
