Excel column formula using velocity template

How can i apply formula for an excel report column through the velocity template (i.e. the excel report .vm file).

eg. I have three columns rate, hours and amount. I want the amount column to have value rate * hours. I dont want to set this formula manually in the excel sheet but rather via the velocity template. Please suggest.

I think i figured this one out. Applying formula on a excel report field is no different than setting data for the field. We can set the formula between <td></td> and excel calculates value based on the formula. Thanks!
