i'm part of the administrator's group and as far as i can tell it only happens to me.
i'll go into User Management and notice that my user name doesn't have an email address associated to it. i edit my user and add my email address. clicking Update on the user profile screen, i can then see my email address that i just added.
now is where things don't go as planned. if i click "Log Out" or just simply close the browser and then open it back up and login, my user has no email address associated with it.
any help / suggestions would be appreciated.
Do you happen to be using JIRA with LDAP?
If yes, is your user in LDAP has an e-mail address associated? The problem might be that after the synchronisation happens, the field is updated and loose the details.
