Estimates on Story & Subtask

Hi,

My question is:

1)Initially we give ball park estimate of effort in hours  to a story if i dont want to go with a storypoint.The Orginial estimate graph also appears

2) Now at the subtask level ,we get more granularity and add subtask and login the hours required.

In this case now the subtasks hours also get added to a story .Is this not an issue?

Hi Jacob,

In the Story page, in the box with the estimates, you can uncheck the "Include sub-tasks". This way, you will only see the hours of the Story, not its subtasks. Obviously, you won't see the hours logged in the sub-tasks.

Alternatively, you can enter estimates in your Stories, not in the sub-tasks, and log hours in the sub-tasks. You will see the Original Estimate and the time logged. However, the remaining estimate won't go down when you log time.
