Dear All,
we set en escalation service in our Jira which automatically close all issues which are in resolved status for more than 30 days.
The service runs daily but after 3 weeks it doesn't work. What can be wrong?
Here is the JQL query for the service:
project=PROJECT and status=resolved and updated < -30d
The user has the proper rights to make the transition
There are no validations on the transition which blocks
What can be the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Rumi
We don't know what escalation service you are using (the Jelly one that I wave at every time for example? Or a script runner? Something else?). Are you sure it's actually running?
Is your filter returning the right results, or rather, any at all?
When you say "it doesn't work", what does that mean? Does nothing at all, hits some issues and not others, finds stuff but does nothing, finds stuff and comments, but fails to transition, etc etc etc
What does your log file say for when it runs?
I'd say stick with what you've got, if it worked before, then throwing it away and starting again is probable more work.
Check your logs, and then think about increasing logging if the default logging doesn't help.

Can you put the logging on and check the logs?

Not much we can do without any kind of error message.
if you are looking for a simple alternative, there is Jelly
