When I try to transition my open helpdesk issue to completed (or any other state) I get the following error...

I am not sure when this started happening, but I have found myself unable to transition issues recently.
Hi Roger,
welcome to Atlassian Community!
Could you please give us some more context about this problem?
Regards,
Daniel
Daniel,
we have added SSO through Atlassian Access recently - this is the only change I can think of.
This is a classic project for Jira Service Desk.
I have not tried other browsers, but I have had a couple of people on my team who reported seeing the same issue.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the update. So, nothing unusual in that regards.
I came across a few reports yesterday that sound similar. They are all resolved meanwhile.
Is it working for your team again?
In case not are you using Apps from Marketplace which could lead to this effect?
