When copying and pasting into a JIRA issue from another application, our users often get the following error message: "The JIRA server could not be contacted. This may be a temporary glitch or the server may be down. Close this dialog box and press refresh in your browser."
We thought this might be due to special characters, but even when the content is copied and pasted into Notepad, and then into JIRA from Notepad, the error still occurs.
This can be very inconvenient, especially if you have a lot of content to be pasted.
Please let me know if you have any solutions to this problem.
There can be a number of reasons for this problem. One of them could be that they left the dialog box open for too long and their session timed out. It could even be because the network was down at the time it was submitted.
The only way to figure out would be to actually see what the logs say at that time.
