Error on JIRA Bitbucket Import?

Diana Puscau December 3, 2013

Hi,

I am testing the trial version of JIRA and I'm trying to see how git(BitBucket) are working together. I made an account on BitBucket and I add some test repository.

I go into Administration -> System -> Bitbucket Import

I see there are the Bitbucket repository and the JIRA project that I want to connect with. I'm pressing next, and I get an error:

Map
Error
Fetching data from Bitbucket failed: org.scribe.exceptions.OAuthConnectionException: There was a problem while creating a connection to the remote service. (the complete exception can be found in the log)

What can I do next?

This is a recently introduced issue. Please keep tabs on that here:

I already made the DVCS COnnector .. it's connected properly.

And I put the Issue tracker on "Public issue tracker", but when I'm going back to the JIRA, and at BitBucket Import I see the same error:

Fetching data from Bitbucket failed: org.scribe.exceptions.OAuthConnectionException: There was a problem while creating a connection to the remote service. (the complete exception can be found in the log)

P.S. Is just me who has a lot of troubles configuring JIRA modules or add-on? The documentation on JIRA it's really big, and not really intuitive.

May I know what you are trying to achieve here?

If you are trying to integrate between JIRA and Bitbucket, this is not the correct way. One of the integration feature is to get the commits to link to JIRA issue. Where you can configure them by referring to https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/Use+the+JIRA+DVCS+Connector+Plugin

The Bitbucket importer is to import issues that exist in Bitbucket to JIRA, where you will have to enable issue tracker on your Bitbucket first. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Importing+Data+from+Bitbucket
