Epic, Story - sub-task and default values

Hi,

We use JIRA + GH + Confluence.

In the R&D department we have 3 main issue types to manage tasks: Epic, Story and Sub-Task.

The Sub-Task is a sub task of a Story.

The Epic and the story are linked by GH Epic field (label).

I'd like to have few fields that are common to all issue types.

For example: If I set the Epic's Product Line field to a specific value, I want this value to be set automatically to all related stories and sub-tasks of that Epic.

Of course, there should be an option to change this value manually.

How do I achieve that?

It give you no advantage.
