This page - https://www.atlassian.com/trust/security/security-practices#product-security - details that Atlassian uses AWS KMS for encrypting the cloud products. Thats great!
Is Jira cloud allow me to hold the encryption keys for my instance of jira cloud?
Here is some context to my question
I'd like to propose going to Jira Cloud from server. But we have very strict guidelines about where data can live. If we were the only ones with the encryption keys, then, we might be able to move to cloud.
Hi david_willson,
If you're considering transitioning to the cloud, Atlassian offer a new Early Access Policy (EAP) that includes Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) for enterprise customers. This allows keys to be provisioned and managed within customers' AWS accounts.
please go through this link for more information: https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/what-is-byok-encryption-for-atlassian-products/
BYOK encryption* is generally available (GA) for Jira Software and in an early access program (EAP) for Confluence as part of our Cloud Enterprise plan.
