Embedding issue collector in Confluence

Tim Brown August 5, 2012

Hi,

We'd like to use the new issue collector feature to provide a simple means for logged in Confluence users to log issues into Jira. Our Confluence systems is configured to use Jira for user management. The users in question will also have an account in Jira.

The question I have is - if users have logged into Confluene (which is using Jira user management) & log an issue through the Jira issue collector embedded into a Confluence page, will the issue be logged under their COnfluence user id?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tim,

Issue Collector at the moment offers 2 options for reporters as mentioned below:

1. Always Use Issue reporter: This option sets the reporter as the Issue Reporter chose while creating the issue collector.

2. Attempt to match user session of submitter or submitter email address: With this option if there is an active JIRA session in the same browser, then reporter will the user logged in to JIRA. Or if there is a user in JIRA having the same email ID has the email ID provided by the issue logger, then a reported will be the JIRA user with that email ID.
