Embed a Confluence image in a JIRA issue

Eric LoPresti November 3, 2013

From a JIRA issue, can you embed an image which is stored in Confluence?

I know you can link to the Confluence page using a URL, but I want to embed the image, so it appears as a thumbnail in the JIRA issue.

This enables me to cleanly reference specification wireframes (which are stored in as Confluence attachments) from JIRA issues. That way, if I update the wf, I only have to do it in Confluence, and I don't have to worry about miscellaneous JIRA attachments getting out of date.

Thanks in advance,

-Eric

If you use a wiki renderer, e.g. for the description or a comment, you can embed images like this

So you have to copy the URL of the image on your confluence page and use the above syntax to embed the image in your issue. More possibilities can be found in the wiki markup help, the question mark below each wiki markup enabled field.

Thanks Henning - that is very helpful!

I ended up using a link like this (where 550.png is the name of the image)...
