Editing the layout for sub-tasks within an issue

Like the screenshot. Do I need to edit the <table id="issuetable"> and the corresponding columns directly in the HTML pageview to put in extra columns or take out columns? People are asking if the columns displayed can be changed in any way and I see no easy method of doing that.

Here is what we added to jira-config.properties (Configuration JIRA option - Advanced):

# Adds issuekey to the default list of fields to show
jira.table.cols.subtasks = issuekey, issuetype, status, assignee, progress

This configuration is applied to all projects in jira, isn't it? What about if I want to change just a specific one? Can I achieve this by adding a new property to workflow transition or step? Any idea?
