Edit the Component field behaviour

Alexandra Guerra September 25, 2013

Is it possible to edit the Component field to behave specifically;

  • Only allow a single selection

or

  • set more than 1 default assignee/component lead if more than 1 component is selected

I have noticed that if more than one component is selected, then it just sends the notification to the one component lead/default assignee and this doesn't seem to be controllable as to who it will send it to.

The only change I appear to be able to make is to set it to Optional or Required.....

Thanks!

Alex.

Both are not possible without customizing JIRA code.

When more than one component is selected, it picks up the first component's lead when sorted alphabetically.

If an issue has multiple components, and the default assignees of components clash, the assignee will be set to the default assignee of the component that is first alphabetically.
