Using the IE available on a bare Windows server 2012R2 - the page on downloading fails (hour glass is on). What extra add-ons are required for downloading?

Try downloading the file on your local machine and moving the exe file over to your 2012 R2 server.

Your inability to download can be because of loads of reasons, can be IIS not installed, can be that firewall or antivirus blocking the download.
