Does Jira On Demand connect to Zephyr Community Edition?

We are currently using JIRA on demand for Agile project and need additional test management tools. Zephyr is an option. Would JIRA on demand connect to Zephyr Community edition?

Has anyone explored this ?

If so please share your insight?

Hi folks,

Thought I'd provide clarification here.  Overall, there are two core product lines Zephyr offers:

• Zephyr Enterprise: This is a full featured, Enterprise class test management solution which can be deployed either on-premise or can be hosted by Zephyr as a SaaS solution.  Zephyr Enterprise has tight integrations with JIRA (Server, Data Center and Cloud)
  • There is also the Community Edition option - this is a free version of Zephyr Enterprise that allows access for up to 10 users, is deployed on-premise only and allows a team to manage a single project with any number of releases or sprints.  The Community Edition provides all the JIRA integration capabilities that the Enterprise Edition does. Visit the hyperlinks to see the differences between these two flavours.
  • For both of these, there is a Zephyr Enterprise Connector available for free on Atlassian Marketplace (As Jaime noted above, this Connector does come pre-installed on JIRA cloud ... all you need to do is enable it; for JIRA Server or DataCenter, you will need to download it from the Marketplace).
  • This Connector is not required for the integration between Zephyr Enterprise/Community and JIRA to work; even with out it, your users will be able to map JIRA/Agile requirements or user stories to test cases, run an end to end traceability report, submit, update and search for JIRA issues directly form inside Zephyr.  The Connector does allow you to view certain key defect metrics in real-time from inside Zephyr and Zephyr's free project dashboard.
• Zephyr for JIRA:  This is a test management add-on specifically designed for JIRA and comes in two flavours:
  
  • Zephyr for JIRA Server: Add-on for JIRA Server or Data center versions (currently at version 2.5.2)
  • Zephyr for JIRA Cloud: Add-on for JIRA Cloud just recently launched 
    • The link Jaime found in the Zephyr for JIRA Server documentation (Jan 9th posting) does need to be updated to reflect the support for JIRA Cloud.  However, to clarify, that link was in reference to Zephyr for JIRA and not the Zephyr Enterprise Connector
    • While Zephyr for JIRA does not have the full set of features as Zephyr Enterprise/Community, it does allow JIRA project teams to create and execute tests directly inside of JIRA.

So, to answer the original questions, yes Zephyr Community does work with JIRA OnDemand (now JIRA Cloud) and while the Zephyr Enterprise Connector is not required for this integration to work, it too is supported on JIRA Server, DataCenter and Cloud.  Hope this clarifies things.

I don't know exactly what you can do with the connector. This page says that Zephyr is not available for Cloud.

Maybe you should contact their support for more information. There is also the documentation.

Thanks! Does Connector Zephyr Add-on work with  Zephyr community, I do not see details this listed on Zephyr site or JIRA site.

The admin panel on JIRA On demand has no option to connect these.
