Does Jira Microsoft Active Directory provider use NTLM for authentication

tschruben October 26, 2016

My company is removing support for NTLM and NTLMv1 authentication protocols. Does JIRA v7.0.5, use either of those authentication protocols? If so, what other authentication protocols does it support?

Tim,

You want to be adding suppor for Kerberos or SAML to your JIRA.

Our add-on supports both, in combination or separate. We have been on the marketplace for a few years now, and our plugins are trusted by several of the world largest financial institutions as well as military and goverment.

Unless you've added a dedicated NTLM authentication plugin, JIRA does not support NTLM authentication out of the box.

You can have Kerberos authentication on JIRA server if you use one of these plugins: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?q=kerberos

JIRA for Data Center now supports SAML authentication as well: https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/saml-single-sign-on-for-atlassian-data-center-applications-857050705.html
