Does JIRA/Confluence cloud support creating a backup using the API ?

We are trying to automate the backup of JIRA/Confluence cloud. I have used the scripts available in bit bucket posted by atlassian community however it doesn't work.

Is the API for creating backup only applicable for server versions ?

I don't think it's possible to schedule automatic backups via APIs as of now. Please see this open ticket
