Do i need to shut down JIRA server while disabling the the Index Optimization Job

Do i need to shut down JIRA server while disabling the the Index Optimization Job and take a back up before performing this operation.

How much time would it take disable the index optimization nightly job.

According the the steps mentioned  in "■How to Disable the Index Optimization Job in JIRA" Link. Since we are running JIRA in Windows we are not able to find the "<JIRA-HOME>/jira-config.properties" file in our JIRA_HOME directory.

Where do i need to make changes to disable the index optimization if i do not have jira-config.properties file.

Hi Sriveni,

Since this will be done by editing the jira-config.properties file, you will need to restart your JIRA indeed (see here). Also, a backup is always a good idea, in case you need to rollback those changes.
