Hi

I am cloning my database schema (for jira) using db tools and going to point my jira to this cloned version of database (by updating the dbconfig.xml)

My question is, since the the new DB is a cloned version of the previous jira, do i still need to do a re-indexing.

PS: I am doing this to preserve the old copy of my database before i perform an upgrade.

No. The index is local to the server you are running Jira on. If the database is a copy, then the local index is still valid.
